A practice conversation that is scored, with the score in your gradebook.
The student, at a university or a company, talks with an AI character in a scenario from your course. The conversation is scored against your rubric, or the standard your experts set, and the feedback quotes what the student said.
- Scored against
- Your rubric, or one you approve
- Feedback
- Quotes the student's own words
- Who grades
- Your choice, per activity
- Score goes to
- The gradebook in your LMS
The student can read the rubric first, then has the conversation.
The practice itself is described under practice conversations and simulations. This page covers how the conversation is scored and where the score is recorded.
Step 1
Previews the rubric
A link to the rubric sits under the session window, so the student can read what will be scored before starting.
Step 2
Has the conversation
The screen says this is a video session with AI and that the conversation is being transcribed. The student speaks, and the AI character pushes back on anything vague.
Step 3
Finishes and submits
The student ends the session and submits it for scoring.
Step 4
Reads the graded rubric
Each criterion shows the points earned, the description of each level, and feedback on what the student said. An overall paragraph names the strongest move and the main thing to improve.
The feedback quotes the student and names what was missing.
What was missing
In another scored conversation, the comments list the techniques the student used, quote the line where each appeared, and name the ones that never came up.
What the instructor sees
The rubric, with the level reached on each criterion and the comment under it. The score goes to the gradebook in your LMS.
You choose which conversations count and how each is graded.
Practice or scored, conversation by conversation
A typical three-credit course has about 25 live conversations with AI characters. Each is set up as practice or as scored work, and the choice is yours.
Your rubric, and your choice of grading
Scoring follows your rubric, or one we draft and you approve. For a company, that is the standard your experts set. Each scored conversation is AI-graded and human-confirmed, fully by people, or fully by AI.
What a score does and does not say
A score reports what the student said in one attempt, measured against the criteria you approved. How much it counts toward the final grade is your decision.
The practice behind the score, and other work that is graded.
Practice conversations & simulations
The practice itself: what the conversation is like and how a scenario is built.
