Five stories of work Alma has done for universities and companies.
The organizations are not named. Under each story is a short account of how Alma does that kind of work in general. If you want to know more about any of these stories, write to [email protected] and ask for a call with Alma.
Three institutions, and three different jobs.
A school in Pennsylvania
The school used Alma's AI teaching assistants to accompany in-person instruction in its business classes.
Where a class meets in person, the instructor keeps teaching it and Alma's learning engineers build what students do between sessions, from the instructor's own syllabus, slides, and cases. The AI teaching assistant answers from the course itself and is labeled as AI. It supports the instructor's teaching and does not replace instructor interaction.
See blended & faculty-led coursesA university in Pennsylvania
The university asked Alma to build the AI component of its online program. The other components are delivered by people.
An addition of this kind goes into a course the university already runs, inside its own LMS and under the instructor who teaches it. An AI teaching assistant answers about the slide on screen, and students practice out loud with an AI character. The university decides which roles stay human, including office hours.
See course refresh & redesignAn innovative university in California
The university built a whole MBA, delivered asynchronously, with Alma's help.
A degree program is built course by course to one structure, from the material the departments already have. Faculty and learning designers approve each design and each result, and every activity is traced to the learning outcomes approved for the course. Accreditation is decided between an institution and its accreditor.

A technology company
The company used Alma's help to create interactive soft-skills training scenarios, with AI playing the other side.
A scenario of this kind comes from a situation in the company's own business. An AI counterpart plays the customer or the direct report in a practice conversation, in text, voice, or video. Vague answers get challenged, and the feedback quotes what the person said and gives one thing to change next time.
See custom training programsA fintech startup
The startup has 500 people in its high-potential program. It paired their live online professional development program with Alma's AI-led coaching.
Around a live program, the people who lead the sessions stay the teachers, and Alma builds what happens between them. Each person gets a safe place to practice before the real conversation. The company decides which conversations stay with a manager or a mentor, and which a coach can take between sessions.

You see your own subject built the way a finished course would be, and you judge the work for yourself.

A syllabus, a slide deck, or a playbook is enough to start the conversation.
