Terms of Service
Monte Carlo Risk Simulator — Google Sheets™ add-on.

1. Acceptance of these Terms
These Terms of Service ("Terms") are an agreement between you and Alma Learning ("Alma Learning", "we", "us", "our") governing your use of the Monte Carlo Risk Simulator add-on for Google Sheets (the "Add-on"). By installing, enabling, or using the Add-on, you agree to be bound by these Terms and by our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not install or use the Add-on.

2. Description of the service
The Add-on is a Monte Carlo risk simulation tool for Google Sheets. It lets you assign probability distributions to spreadsheet inputs, designate output (forecast) cells, and run risk analyses including Monte Carlo simulation, tornado and sensitivity analysis, scenario comparison, data tables, time-series forecasting, regression analysis, distribution fitting, and portfolio optimization. Results are written to sheets within your spreadsheet as tables and charts.

All numerical computation is performed locally in your browser. The Add-on has no server backend operated by Alma Learning and does not transmit your spreadsheet contents to us or to any third party.

3. Eligibility and accounts
The Add-on does not require you to create an account with Alma Learning. It runs within Google Sheets under your Google account, and your use of Google services remains subject to Google's own terms of service and privacy policy. The Add-on is suitable for general audiences; if you are a minor, you may use it only in accordance with the terms of the Google account under which it runs (for example, an account managed by your school or guardian).

4. License
Subject to these Terms, Alma Learning grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Add-on for your personal, educational, or internal business purposes. The Add-on is proprietary software. All rights not expressly granted to you are reserved by Alma Learning.

Except to the extent permitted by applicable law notwithstanding this restriction, you may not:

• copy, redistribute, sublicense, rent, lease, sell, or resell the Add-on or access to it;
• reverse-engineer, decompile, disassemble, or otherwise attempt to derive the source code of the Add-on, except for those portions made available under open-source licenses;
• modify the Add-on or create derivative works based on it;
• remove or alter any proprietary notices in the Add-on.

5. Acceptable use
You agree to use the Add-on only for lawful purposes. In particular, you agree not to:

• use the Add-on in violation of any applicable law or regulation, or of Google's terms and policies applicable to Google Workspace add-ons;
• use the Add-on to infringe the rights of others, including intellectual-property and privacy rights;
• interfere with, disrupt, or attempt to probe or circumvent the security or integrity of the Add-on or of Google's services;
• use automated means to abuse, overload, or stress the Add-on beyond its intended interactive use;
• misrepresent the Add-on's outputs as guarantees, certified analyses, or professional financial advice.

6. Data handling and Google API compliance
The Add-on requests the minimum Google OAuth scopes needed to function:

• https://www.googleapis.com/auth/spreadsheets.currentonly — read and modify only the spreadsheet in which the Add-on is used, so it can read your model inputs and write simulation results and charts;
• https://www.googleapis.com/auth/script.container.ui — display the Add-on's menu and sidebar inside Google Sheets.

The Add-on cannot access other files in your Google Drive, your email, or your contacts. Spreadsheet data accessed through these scopes is processed entirely within your browser session and within your own spreadsheet; it is not transmitted to, stored by, or shared with Alma Learning or any third party, and it is not used for advertising or to train machine-learning models.

Alma Learning's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. For more detail, see our Privacy Policy.

7. Educational purpose — no financial advice
The Add-on is an educational and analytical tool. Its outputs — including simulation statistics, Value at Risk, forecasts, regression results, and portfolio allocations — are provided for informational and educational purposes only. They are not, and should not be relied upon as, investment, financial, tax, legal, or accounting advice, and they do not constitute a recommendation to buy, sell, or hold any security or asset. Simulation results depend on the model, assumptions, and parameters that you supply, and past or simulated performance does not guarantee future results. You are solely responsible for any decisions you make based on the Add-on's outputs, and you should consult a qualified professional before making financial decisions.

8. Third-party services and components
The Add-on runs inside Google Sheets and depends on the availability of Google's services; we are not responsible for interruptions or changes to Google services. On startup, your browser loads open-source scientific computing components (the Pyodide runtime with the NumPy and SciPy libraries) from a public content delivery network. These requests fetch software libraries only — no spreadsheet content or personal data is included in them. Open-source components remain subject to their respective licenses.

9. Intellectual property
The Add-on, including its software, design, documentation, and branding, is owned by Alma Learning and protected by intellectual-property laws. Your spreadsheets, models, and data remain yours; these Terms grant us no rights to your content. Google Sheets™ and Google Workspace™ are trademarks of Google LLC; this Add-on is not endorsed by or affiliated with Google.

10. Changes to the Add-on
We may update, modify, add, or remove features of the Add-on at any time, and may suspend or discontinue the Add-on in whole or in part. Where reasonably practicable, we will give notice of material changes through the Add-on's Marketplace listing or our website.

11. Termination
You may stop using the Add-on at any time by uninstalling it from your Google account. We may suspend or terminate your access to the Add-on if you materially breach these Terms. Sections 7, 9, 12, 13, and 15 survive any termination.

12. Disclaimer of warranty
THERE IS NO WARRANTY FOR THE ADD-ON, TO THE EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW. EXCEPT WHEN OTHERWISE STATED IN WRITING, ALMA LEARNING PROVIDES THE ADD-ON "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE ADD-ON WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR THAT ITS OUTPUTS WILL BE ACCURATE OR COMPLETE. THE ENTIRE RISK AS TO THE QUALITY AND PERFORMANCE OF THE ADD-ON IS WITH YOU. SHOULD THE ADD-ON PROVE DEFECTIVE, YOU ASSUME THE COST OF ALL NECESSARY SERVICING, REPAIR, OR CORRECTION.

13. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT WILL ALMA LEARNING, ITS OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, OR AGENTS BE LIABLE TO YOU FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, OR DATA BEING RENDERED INACCURATE, OR FOR LOSSES SUSTAINED BY YOU OR THIRD PARTIES, OR FOR A FAILURE OF THE ADD-ON TO OPERATE WITH ANY OTHER PROGRAMS, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE ADD-ON, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THE ADD-ON WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID US FOR THE ADD-ON IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM OR FIFTY US DOLLARS (US$50). SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW CERTAIN LIMITATIONS OF LIABILITY, SO SOME OF THE ABOVE MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU; NOTHING IN THESE TERMS EXCLUDES LIABILITY THAT CANNOT BE EXCLUDED UNDER APPLICABLE LAW.

14. Changes to these Terms
We may revise these Terms from time to time. The current version, with its effective date, will always be posted at this page. If a change is material, we will provide reasonable notice, for example through the Marketplace listing or our website. Your continued use of the Add-on after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

15. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any disputes arising out of these Terms will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Nothing in this section deprives you of mandatory consumer protections of the country in which you reside.
